Rudyard Lake
Our volunteers come along as often as their time allows. We hold training nights on a Tuesday night during the spring, summer and autumn months, and we have sailing at weekends throughout the season.

We hold social events for members and volunteers such as our very popular Race Night and all are welcome to come along.

We are now entering into a very exciting period with the development of a permanent Boat Store at Rudyard Lake, which will greatly enhance the clubs facilities for its volunteers and members.

Not all our volunteers are able to come to the lake and they volunteer in many different ways. Our new Boat Store project relied heavily on volunteers who gave their time and skills in order to get the building designed, planning applications submitted, legal advice, accounting advice and much more.

If you would like to volunteer your time and skills to help make Rudyard Sailability the club we want it to be, or just want to know more, then please contact either the Chairman or Membership secretary here: You can also contact the volunteer coordinator here.

What could be better than getting out into the fresh air, throw in a beautiful location like Rudyard Lake, add a great bunch of friends and a great sport like sailing, and you have the makings of a fantastic day out. This is what our volunteers experience every weekend throughout the season.

Being a volunteer with Rudyard Sailability is a fantastic experience. From helping to rig boats to taking disabled users out onto the lake sailing, rowing or in the safety boat, its all very rewarding and great fun.

You don’t need any sailing or water based skills or experience in order to participate as all training is given by trained and very experienced instructors. Even if you have never thought about sailing before; it’s no barrier to volunteering with us.

We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life, those with a disability, and people who are able bodied but want to do something worthwhile.

Our volunteers are what make our club the success that it is, along with its members, and we could not function without you.
